What do good readers do?
T.O. Notes
HW:RJ 1.2 T.O. p. 19-36

Today  I feel like Moses the beginner, the first one across the sea, the first one to jump off the cliff. The first eighth grade student to write a blog all year. I am starting a trend of writing that blog, I am actually not. I just want to feel special. The agenda for today is to go over Ms. Nakada's first blog yesterday. Now Ms. Nakada is meticulously creeping around the room to check each single person's reading journals. Everyone except one person did the reading  journals so no point for today... Now Ms. Nakada is evilly glancing across the room waiting for one brave student to read their own reading journal. I raised my hand but she did not want to listen to my immaculate pronunciation of the most amazing reading journal. Now many people raise their hands to share their summaries. On pages 1-18 we find out that the narrator Ponyboy Curtis is a Greaser who does not use his head.  He almost gets jumped before Darry and the rest of the gang come to Pony's rescue. Pony lives with brothers Soda aka Prince Charming and Darry acts as a father figure to both brothers. Ponyboy lives in a good cop-bad cop situation with Darry as the "bad cop" and Soda as the "good cop." During the chapter we meet the other members of the gang including Two-Bit, Dally, and Johnny. They all have different personalities and together are the Greasers. At the end of the chapter, as Orson beautifully put, Soda revealed to Pony that after Pony got out of school Soda was going to marry Sandy. Awwwww they are in loveeeeeee. (No Ms. Nakada that is not a typo but, this mayb;).)

Ms. Nakada now wants us to take notes on what good readers do. Do I really have to do notes Ms. Nakada? I can just get them from someone else, ok I might do them. No, I haven't seen the outsiders movie. I'm bored I'm gonna take a selfie.

Wow, I look creepy. Maybe if our class gets 10 points Ms. Nakada can get me a stylist. Just kidding.  As Bruno Mars says, "you're amazing just the way you are." Thank you, Bruno. I am amazing just the way I am. Now, Ms. Nakada thinks I am taking notes but my composition is as empty as Las Vegas when the casinos close or as empty as Nebraska and if you were wondering I don't like Nebraska but they have really good corn. Well, Ms. Nakada said good readers need to find interesting and good books for them. Good readers also predict what will happen. Now, according to every English TEACHER ever "Don't judge a book by it's cover." Gracie Globerman decided to be a rebel and pronounced, "I judge books by their cover (chuckle, chuckle)." She must have eaten too much Sass-a-Frass this morning or she just has had many dreams where famous rebels like some famous people that I'm supposed to know told her to be rebellious. Hey, I'm a rebel too. I just did something for the first time I should get a medal :)!!!

I took a selfie with a 6th grader in another room. That's a first! The bell finally rang, now a summary of  my notes for the day
Don't worry, Ms. Nakada. I will eventually have my notes done just not now
One lest Selfie for the best blog ever and yes, Ms. Nakada, my immaculate performance in which my mind and my fingers worked together to create this will help me get a 4.0.

  1. Wow, Quinn? How many selfies can you take. Oh, and you said you were bored. That is so rude! Especially because you were supposed to be taking notes instead of selfies. Shame. I'm smh.

  2. Ms. Nakada, how did you not get a reply to this comment of yours? I have to admit, I had to laugh, or at least smirk, at Quinn's comment about Gracie having too much Sass-a-Frass in the morning. All my best from Virginia, Ms. G
P.S. if your classes read anything Civil War-ish let me know if I can go on a photo scavenger hunt for you all to see the real thing!
