Banned Book Week
Analyzing The Outsiders
movie v. book
Hey! Well today Jesse read his blog it was pretty short but it said everything we did. He had to pick a girl so he said Mindy which is my middle name. I didn't want to get picked but it's not that bad. The class wanted to talk about Banned Book Week. The class has got 10 points again so tomorrow we are getting pizza. We started taking notes and defined banned. Banned means something that is not allowed or questioned. Reasons books get banned are for if they are violent, promoting illegal activity, and if are not appropriate .Ms. Nakada gave us a list of books that have been banned and there are so many. Some books that are banned are The Book Thief , A Day No Pigs Would Die, Hoot, Hunger Games, and many more. Ms. Nakada asked the class if we should be able to say what books we could read most of the class said yes. Governments that decide what we can read are China, Iran and Afghanistam. As a reader we should decide what we think about a book. Ms. Nakada told us about her mom not wanting her to read a Judy Bloom's book Forever. We have to write our favorite banned books. On my list so far is The Outsiders, The Hunger Games, The Hobbit, and Hoot. The class found out about books Ms. Nakada wrote. Now, there are five minutes left according to Sparky. The last thing we do is continue analyzing The Outsiders Book v. Movie.
Class is about to end so Bye!

Oh man, this is what I get for being absent. I hope my book isn't banned. See you Friday! :)
