The Outsiders Chapter 8 Notes
Two-Bit and Ponyboy go to visit Johnny, and even though he is in bad shape, he doesn't want to die. His mom comes, which upsets him, and Pony has to leave. Dally is physically fine, but annoyed that they won't let him smoke. Two-Bit gives him his switchblade before he leaves. Ponboy and Cherry talk again and Piony gets mad that she won't go see Jonny. Still, they connect over the sunset.
So, I'm here because of Orson.... Thanks. I really got to say that I am LOVING this keyboard! It's awesome! It seems like there are a lot of notes that are going to be taken today and I'm kind of nervous that I won't be able to write them all down. Don't worry, I'm going to try to multi-task. So we're reading through our chapter, and writing our notes, and we're clearing things up about Johnny's mother. She's not very pleasant at all, and if that was my friend's mom, I would be terrified. I was not suprised that Two-Bit said something to her! She deserved it.
We're moving on to Grammar Notes now, and they're just going to be a quick activity, because it's a Tuesday. I would copy them on to the blog, but I gon't know how to insert a T- chart. Basically, we are talking about the differences between proper nouns and regular nouns. UCLA is a proper noun, but college is not. A word that is commonly missed is "mom." Different ways you say it can be cause it to change whether or not it is a proper noun. Now everyone is getting some time to silently read while Ms. Nakada checks the rest of the reading jounals. I guess our little donut party on Thursday took up some of her checking time. I wish I had another book to read, but all I have is The Outsiders, and I finished it this morning! It is so amazing!! I think that we will be reading until the end of the period, which Sparky says is near, so I have nothing else to report. I guess I'm signing off. Stay classy San Diego. ( That was a reference)
