The Book Thief Parts 5 and 6

     So I finally got picked to do my third blog by Sabrina. Yay( sarcastically again for the third time)!
     Ms. Nakada just told us to take out our notebooks and put "The Book Thief Parts 5 and 6" in our table of contents.  Now we are turning to an empty page in our notebooks and set up cornell notes for parts 5 and 6. Part 5 is called "The Whistler" and the first chapter in it is called "The Floating Book". In this chapter, there is a floating book in the river and Death foreshadows Rudy's death that occurs two years later.The next chapter is called "The Gamblers" and die are used to show how living with a Jew is a gamble. The first side of the die is used to describe when Liesel Max a haircut and the second side of the die is when Liesel brings Max a newspaper. The third side is Liesel describing the weather and the sky to Max. After that, Max imagines boxing Hitler and later tells Liesel about it (sides 4 and 5). Max also paints over pages of Mein Kampf and starts The Word Shaker (side 6). The seventh and last side of the die represents the bad luck the Hubermann's get when Rosa gets fired from the mayor's wife. Liesel yells at her becasue of this and later feels remorse.
     Now the class is talking about using the back door (of classrooms of course).  The next chapter is "Rudy's Youth" and Rudy has problems with the new leader of the gang of thieves, Viktor, after also having problems with Franz ( the Hitler Youth leader). "The Losers" is next and Viktor swears at Liesel and he says that they "will pay". "Sketches" is about Max drawing disturbing images and Liesel getting scared by them. "The Whistler and the Shoes" is about Liesel and Rudy stealing The Whistler from the mayor's house. She also leaves her shoes and Rudy goes back to get them.
     Everyone is packing up now so i guess this is my cue to leave. Bye. I just overheard Sabrina talking about how its taking her 4 months to read a book and i felt like including that. Okay bye now for real.
